ABOUT KIP

Kip is available for parties, weddings, and events of all types both public and private.

Kip performs solo, armed with an acoustic guitar and a loop station, which allows him to sample rhythms live and texture his performance with other melodies and guitar solos. He brings his unique style to wine bars, hotels, restaurants, and private events.  His repertoire consists of an eclectic selection of popular songs and original material (See Kip’s set list below).

Kip has been connecting with people through live music since he was a teenager.  MTV had Veejays, didn’t run commercials, and actually played music videos when he joined his first semi-professional band.  Since then, he’s earned a BA in Music from Berklee College of Music, written, produced and released original material on his own independent label and made hundreds of live appearances as a singer/songwriter and as a member of 90’s original band Hip Immortals.  

BAND

In 2004, Kip joined Beat Street, a favorite Santa Cruz dance band, as a lead vocalist/frontman and guitarist. They were a collective of musicians who really knew how to get parties started.  Beat Street played a wide variety of rock & soul dance anthems at weddings, events, parties and clubs all around the Bay Area. After 18 years of fun, the band parted ways in November of 2022..

It was my lucky day when Kip agreed to play at a party at our home last fall.  We celebrated outdoors and the guests were serenaded by Kip's lovely voice and mellow guitar playing.  His sound never overwhelmed the crowd and that's a good thing, because I prefer my guests to be able to converse comfortably.  Kip was easy going and cordial; he wasn't fussy about where to set up and he definitely made a connection with the crowd.  Kip can easily play many different music styles. - Rossana B

Last year, my wife and I spent the weekend in Santa Cruz, CA. We had dinner at a restaurant in Capitola. We decided to walk a few blocks before returning to our hotel room.  As we were walking we heard music coming from a small club down the street. We decided to walk into the club and have a quick drink. The performer was Kip, singing popular songs while strumming his guitar. He was charismatic and very engaging with the audience. More than two hours later we were still in the club listening to Kip singing and performing. It was clear that Kip enjoyed performing and we certainly enjoyed listening. - John A.
